​Testing recommendations for patients prior to the initial consultation​

​

Testing recommendations depend upon the patient's individual presentation, there is not a set of testing that is done for all patients. It is generally recommended that patients wait for their practitioner’s guidance after the first consultation before ordering any tests. However, after the first consultation it is common for practitioners in the HGMC to recommend SIBO breath testing, microbiome assessment, and intestinal permeability testing.

 

Sending previous test results to us prior to the initial consultation

We ask that patients don't send test results or health histories prior to their initial appointment.

​

Our practitioners prefer to start with a fresh perspective to fully understand their patients' health picture and concerns. They will discuss any previous tests or treatments with patients during the initial consultation and ask for any additional information if needed. We recommend patients have their health history handy for reference during the initial appointment.

Are tests included in consultation fees? ​

No, tests are not included in consultation fees.

 

All testing is done through third parties; our practitioners and clinic do not benefit financially from any recommendations or referrals made. We pride ourselves on providing ethical, independent recommendations.

Testing costs usually range between AU$200 - $1,000 over the course of treatment.

Wherever possible, products your practitioner recommends will be shipped to you from our Apothecary. For products that we do not stock, your practitioner will help you to source high quality options through outside providers, online or local to you.
